Hollywood Actress Countess Vaughn, best known for her appearances in Moesha and The Parkers, recently revealed on Hollywood Divas that she aborted one of her children when she was 18 years old.
“I had an unwanted pregnancy. I had just started my TV show. I knew that in black Hollywood a girl having a baby, they’d get rid of you. I had to do something about it. I had to make a decision to get rid of a child for my career.”
Wow, how sad. To be in a line of work where you feel you have to choose between aborting your child or getting your career aborted is just wrong. Unfortunately she choose her career over her child.
Why did she open up now, on Hollywood Divas?
“I really needed it to release all that I’ve been carrying all this time. I’ve beat myself up for so long about it, and I just felt like, ‘You know what girl, you’ve got to tell somebody.”
Yes you do, Countess, got to tell somebody. And we are glad you did. Abortion is not an easy choice because we all know pretty much what it is – it is the taking of an innocent human person’s life. Notice how she calls what she got rid of in the abortion, as “a child?”
Please keep Countess Vaughn in your thoughts and prayers, that she becomes healed from her abortion and that she eventually becomes an outspoken critic of the choice of abortion. Thank you.
