Meet Christen, one of our Missionary for Life interns for the summer of 2017. Christen will be helping us spread the pro-life message, offering hope and resources with the rest of the Missionaries for Life team at each Vans Warped Tour stop; 41 of them during a 52-day adventure traveling 16,617 miles!
Erik Whittington: Tell us about yourself.
Christen: I am a recent graduate of Cleveland State University. I am a proud Ohioan. I enjoy rockin’ out to awesome music, and I love sunshine and glitter. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.
Erik: What are your favorite movies?
Christen: I love all things Disney and chick flicks like Legally Blonde and Miss Congenitally as well as sci-fi movies like Hunger Games and Transformers.
Erik: Do you like to read? If so, what are you reading right now?
Christen: I love reading! Currently I have been reading a lot of text books but I enjoy inspirational books like Girls With Swords by Lisa Bevere or Brave Enough by Nicole Unice.
Erik: Who are your favorite bands?
Christen: There are way too many to list! But I love bands like Twenty-One Pilots, Family Force 5, Memphis May Fire, Skillet, Verida, and Hollyn just to name a few.
Erik: Why are you pro-life?
Christen: I am pro-life because I believe that every human person, born and preborn, has a purpose and a destiny to fulfill on this earth. Every life should have the chance to live out their purpose.
Erik: What are you most excited for this summer?
Christen: I am so excited to be able to travel this summer with Missionaries for Life. I can’t wait to meet new people and spread the pro-life mission.
Erik: What makes you want to give up your summer to be a Missionary for Life?
Christen: I don’t see being a Missionary for Life as giving up my summer. I think of it as a chance to go on a new adventure and step out to be a voice for those who don’t have one.
We are very excited to have Christen as a part of our Missionary for Life team this summer. We can’t wait to see how she uses her talents to benefit the Missionaries for Life team this summer and to spread the pro-life message on Vans Warped Tour.
Christen will be touring with three other Missionaries for Life on Vans Warped Tour. This tour is a secular, mainstream festival that invites non-profits to be apart of their adventure. We are so thankful that they have allowed us to be a part of their tour and we look forward to this opportunity to offer hope, resources and scientific facts to concert-goers of the humanity of the child growing in-utero.
The Missionaries for Life is a non-paid internship. Christen has set-up a fundraising page to help cover her costs. Please keep her and the Missionaries for Life team in your thoughts and prayers. If you feel led to donate to her, click here.
You can keep up with Christen and the rest of the Missionaries for Life this summer through the Rock for Life blog and our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and Snapchat). You can also follow Christen directly through her fundraising page and her Twitter feed.

I can’t wait to introduce the rest of the Missionaries for Life to you. We have three more to go. Stay tuned!
