“Abortion became a number, a goal,” says former Planned Parenthood clinic manager

Many in the pro-life movement have known for years that the abortion advocates’ mantra of “safe, legal and rare” abortion is a ruse.  Obviously it’s not safe for anyone involved nor is it rare.  Planned Parenthood will tell you that they are out to prevent abortion by preventing pregnancy and that abortion services are only “3 percent” of their total services.  Yeah right.

Well, one of their former clinic managers has come out and shed some light on this issue.  In this interview Sue Thayer, who was fired three years ago and has led a prayer campaign outside her former clinic, comes out and shares what it is like to manage a Planned Parenthood abortion facility.

It became increasing clear over the years (12 total) that Planned Parenthood wasn’t about preventing or reducing pregnancy.  ”Abortion became a number, a goal,” Sue said, “managers are accountable for that goal.”  So, if Planned Parenthood is so about preventing or reducing abortions why are abortion goals set?  And why are managers held accountable for those goals?  Shouldn’t the number of pregnancies avoided be the goal?  NO!  Because abortion is their goal!

Sue goes on to say that as part of her training she was forced to observe a full day of surgical abortions.  Because Sue was personally opposed to abortion this gave her more drive during the following twelve years to prevent pregnancies and abortions.

Eventually the ruse became clearer and clearer.  Her Planned Parenthood facility did not provide surgical abortions, but eventually they introduced telemed abortions – abortions where a doctor from a different facility would determine if a mother was less than 63 days pregnant.  If so, the doctor would assist in administering the abortion drug RU-486 through webcam.  The idea was to introduce this form of abortion to her facility and eventually make it available to every single “family planning clinic” in the nation.  Therefore greatly increasing the abortion rate.

Once the telemed abortions were introduced at her facility she vocally opposed it – “we are not about abortion, we are about family planning – we prevent abortion.”  She was shortly thereafter “laid off.”  An ad for the vacant job soon appeared in the local paper.

So as you can see Planned Parenthood is about abortion.  Abortion is a highly profitable business for them.   In order to stay in business they need to sell their product – abortion.

Another interesting admission she made is that Planned Parenthood really does not like 40 Days for Life.  So out of curiosity she signed up for their email list.  When she was fired from Planned Parenthood she eventually went to 40 Days for Life and led the fall 2011 prayer campaign in front of her former clinic!  Prayer works folks!

We need to shut down Planned Parenthood.  One of the ways is to share what Planned Parenthood is really about .  Please listen to the interview and share this article on all your social network avenues.  Thank you.

361 Babies Saved from abortion so far!

I love my Monday morning 40 Days for Life emails!  This morning’s email reports 361 babies saved (that we know of) from abortion during the fall 2011 campaign!

Three babies were saved in one day in Columbus, Georgia.  Two teenagers handed a counselor a receipt that had, “‘first trimester abortion — $385′ had been scratched out.”  Also, 8 babies were saved in two days in Downey, California.

To read more about these stories and many others click here.

Praying and sidewalk counseling outside of abortion facilities work!  Please prayerfully consider getting involved with the 40 Days for Life campaign or just go pray at any time.  Thanks!

“Good Women Have Abortions” – What does this mean?

This morning I received my daily 40 Days For Life email and this photo struck me.  It is of an abortion facility with a sign that reads, “Good Women Have Abortions.”

What does this mean?

Pro-lifers have always argued that abortion is wrong, it is the taking of an innocent human persons life.  Abortion is wrong, not the people who perform them, have their children aborted or advocate for it.  There is always a possibility of a change of heart, something we always pray for.

Good people do bad things.  We all know good people do good things and even bad people can do good things.  But why are we being reminded that “Good Women Have Abortions?”  I think it is an admittance of guilt, knowing full well that abortion is not a good thing and that yes, sometimes good people make bad choices.

What do you think?

38 Babies saved within 6 days!

The 40 Days For Life campaign is reporting 38 babies lives spared from abortion during its first 6 days of the Fall campaign!  This is amazing news!

If you haven’t prayed at a 40 Days for Life vigil, do so now!  You will be part of a peaceful, prayerful, life saving and historical event designed to save babies from abortion, save their mothers from the trauma associated with abortion, shut down abortion facilities and invite abortion facility workers to quit and even join our side!

Abortionist points gun at peaceful praying pro-lifers

The Women’s Medical Center is one of hundreds of abortion facilities across America that are targets of a 40 Days for Life, which is a forty day prayer and fasting vigil to end abortion.

“Dr.” Gary Boyle, the abortionist at this facility decided he couldn’t take the prayers and vigils at his abortion facility any longer so he decided to draw a gun on the folks, according to TriCities.com. Classy. Now he is charged with a felony.

The violence of abortion is all around us, inside the clinic and sometimes even right outside the doors.  The violence perpetrated by those who claim to be pro-choice has been documented on ProChoiceViolence.com.  Plus, I personally have been a victim of it numerous times.

What is the response of 40 Days for Life? To continue praying and fasting for an end to abortion.  That is our response as well.  Is that yours?

Erik Whittington
Executive Director, Rock For Life

Will abortion end in America?

Will abortion end in America? This was one of many questions I was asked recently (Saturday, September 18, 2010) as part of the Mid-Atlantic 40 Days for Life Kick-Off Rally.  Basically this is how I responded and I’m wondering what you think:

Abortion will end in America or I will die trying.  I know this sounds a little over the top but this must be our attitude.  It’s not going to happen unless we all do everything we can at every moment in life.  It is my prayer that when I am on my death bed that either abortion has been abolished in America or if it hasn’t then I can look myself in the mirror, I can look in the eyes of my beautiful wife, I can look in the eyes of my children and hopefully my grandchildren and most importantly I can say to our God that I did everything that I could, that I tried with all my might, that I fought the good fight.

You see, if abortion doesn’t end in my lifetime I want to at the very least to help lay the ground work for others after me to see the promised land.

That is my prayer for myself and that is my prayer for all of you reading this.

Thoughts?

September is a busy month!

September has been and is going to be a very busy month!  Yesterday (Wednesday, September 1st) I recorded a months worth of podcasts with Kristan Hawkins for our joint Rock For Life / Students for Life podcast.  Our next episode will be released tomorrow and I can’t wait for you to hear it.  There is actually some very disturbing news we became aware of while recording so make sure to visit the Rock For Life website tomorrow to hear the show.  You may be one of the first to hear about this news so stay tuned.

Tomorrow (Friday, September 3rd) I leave to exhibit at Revelation Generation 2010 (Sept. 4th – 5th), an awesome annual Christian music festival based in Frenchtown, New Jersey.  If you are attending make sure to stop by our booth to learn about the Rock For Life mission, to get involved and to pick up some cool pro-life shirts and other materials.  If you are in the area and currently not going you may want to reconsider.  ”RevGen” is an amazing festival with an amazing line-up of bands, musicians and speakers.

The following weekend (Friday, Sept. 10) I will be traveling to Knoxville, Tennessee to speak at Sharpening Your Focus To Cultivate A Pro-Life Campus Conference (Saturday, Sept. 11), a joint conference sponsored by Students for Life of America and the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform.  This is going to be an amazing conference with some amazing speakers.  It’s only $10 and that includes meals and lodging!  Check it out! For more info click here.

Then the weekend after that (Sept. 17th – 18th) Rock For Life will be exhibiting at another amazing Christian music festival, Awakening Festival 2010. If you are attending make sure to stop by our booth and if you are in the area and are NOT going you need to check it out and go!  This will be another opportunity to spread the Rock For Life mission, educate young people about the horrors of abortion and sign people up to Rock For Life in their communities.

Also, that same weekend (Saturday, Sept. 18th) I will be speaking at another pro-life conference, The 2nd Annual Mid-Atlantic 40 Days For Life Conference and Kick-Off.  40 Days for Life is an amazing ministry and I’m so excited to be a part of it.  Click here for more info.

September Needs

As you can see this is a very busy month for Rock For Life!  We have most of these expenses paid for already, specifically the exhibiting expenses for the two music festivals.  That is good news!

Here are the needs we have for this month:

Gas $300

Food $400
Van maintenence (2 oil changes & 1 tire rotation) $100
Total $800
Lodging =? I normally sleep in the van but if you want to bless me with a hotel room that would be fantastic!

Also, I am in desperate need of a smart phone, preferably an iPhone (iPhone 3 would be great!) and possibly even a broadband card.  Traveling all these miles this month it would be so helpful to be able to stay online, getting work done and spreading the pro-life message. If you can help donate these items and/or even commit to covering the monthly expenses for a smartphone / broadband card that would be fantastic, let me know!

Please pray that God provides this month and please pray to see if you can help financially.

Last month I gave a shirt to anyone who donated more than $15.  This month I’ll do the same!

If you are able to donate you can do it three ways.

1) Paypal to info@rockforlife.net

2) Call in with a credit card number (540-840-9764)
3) Mail a check or money order (made out to “Grace Church of Fredericksburg) and send to PO Box 333, Locust Grove, VA 22508

Make sure to include what size “LIFE.” shirt you would like.

Thanks so much for praying for us and for considering a donation to help us attend all of these events!
