Meet Grace – Missionary for Life 2017!

Meet Grace, our second official Missionary for Life intern for the summer of 2017. Grace will be helping us spread the pro-life message on the Vans Warped Tour – 41 tour stops in 52 days traveling 16,617 miles!

Erik Whittington: Tell us about yourself.
Grace: Hello! My name is Grace Gottschling and I’m from Burlington, New Jersey. I am the second oldest with seven brothers and sisters and am going into my Senior year of college at The College of New Jersey.

Erik: What are your favorite movies?
Grace: My favorite movies are probably too many to count, but just to list a few: Star Wars, LOTR, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Goonies, 6th Sense, Silence of the Lambs, and at the very top, Red, The Revenant, and Primal Fear.

Erik: Do you read? If so, what are you reading right now?
Grace: I am an avid reader, but as an English major I have to read constantly for classes during the school year which doesn’t leave a lot of time for personal reading. My favorite series at the moment is the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman (which actually has a strong pro-life message, though I don’t believe that was the author’s intent).

Erik: Who are your favorite bands?
Grace: My favorite bands vary depending on the moment, but some of my top choices would be Panic! At The Disco, Volbeat, anything Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin, and various Broadway/Film soundtracks.

Erik: Why are you pro-life?
Grace: I have been a huge pro-life advocate ever since I can remember. I have four adoptive siblings and I was brought even closer to the movement when my little brother was miscarried at thirteen weeks. I saw the devastation it brought my family, his stage of development, and the potential that was lost. He was alive, he was unique, and he is undoubtedly missed. After seeing the impact that Gabriel left, my passion for the unborn has only strengthened.

Erik: What makes you want to give up your summer to be a Missionary for Life?
Grace: I am so incredibly excited for this summer, I truly believe this program is God-sent and I cannot wait to talk to the attendees at the Vans Warped Tour! I have been very active on my college campus and have spoken to people in small-scale environments about Life and I think I can connect and really impact people at these large-scale events! The key is to approach everyone with love and respect and start a productive, logical conversation where everyone can leave having learned something new and informative. I honestly can’t think of a better thing to do with my summer than traveling with great people advocating for the most innocent of us all-the unborn.

As you can see, Grace is an excellent choice to be a Missionary for LifeWe are so excited to see all the wonderful things that happen through her and the rest of the Missionaries for Life this summer.

Grace will be touring with three other Missionaries for Life on the Vans Warped Tour. This is a secular, mainstream traveling festival tour covering 16,617 miles that has 41 stops in 52 days (June 16th – August 6th) with the opportunity to reach tens of thousands of young people with the pro-life message. This is quite the adventure!

The Missionaries for Life is a non-paid internship. Grace has set-up a fundraising page to help cover her costs. Please keep her and the Missionaries for Life team in your thoughts and prayers. If you feel led to donate to her, click here.
